Jeff Kanig, President

February 1, 2010, WVHOA Founder and President Jeff
Kanig passed away. Jeff dedicated a great deal of his
time and knowledge to help homeowners associations
make their communities better. He will certainly be
missed.


Curtis Ekmark, Vice President

Curtis EkmarkFounded Ekmark and Ekmark in 1993 and has represented associations since the firm’s inception.  Mr. Ekmark earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and received an academic scholarship to attend Pepperdine University School of Law.  While at Pepperdine, he was a member of the Dean’s List, the Law Review and the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity.  He was named the Terry Giles Scholar and the Odell McConnell Scholar before graduating with honors.  Prior to graduation, he served as a legal intern for  Judge John L. Coffey on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Ekmark accepted a judicial clerkship with Chief Justice Roland B. Day on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  Mr. Ekmark is a three-time Past President of the Central Arizona Chapter of the Community Association Institute, a member of the College of Community association Lawyers, and a Chair of the Legislative Action Committee.  He is President of the Scottsdale Council of Homeowners Associations and Vice President of the West Valley Homeowner Associations.  Mr. Ekmark frequently lectures on association issues, has written several articles on the subject and has appeared on various radio and television programs.

Mitzi Mills is the Executive Director of Sun City Grand Homeowners Association, managing  a community of 9802 homes and a population of  over 14, 500 residents

Colleen A. Lombard, Director of Membership

Colleen Lombard

Since 1993, Colleen has been a Community Manager of Condominium and Master Planned Single Family Community projects in Arizona and throughout Southern California.  She possesses extensive experience working with major developers prior to, during construction, and through to transition to homeowner control of community boards.  Colleen earned the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation in 2004.  She is a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM) and serves on the Board of Directions for the West Valley Homeowner Associations.  Colleen has been a guest speaker in Arizona and a published contributor to Community Resource, a CAI publication.
